The Crime and Justice Research (CJR) Network was established as an initiative of the NewSouth Global Chair in Criminology. In 2005 five cross-faculty chairs were established with the view to developing and enhancing inter-disciplinary collaborative research.
The NewSouth Global Chair in Criminology is a joint appointment between the Faculties of Law and Arts and Social Sciences. It takes its name from NewSouth Global, the commercial arm of the University which has funded the Chair.
The aim of the NewSouth Global Chair in Criminology is to transcend traditional boundaries and to create new and groundbreaking research. An initial step in achieving this aim is to provide a network and forum where staff and research students from different schools and faculties can meet and exchange ideas. The Crime and Justice Research (CJR) Network provides the opportunity for this interchange to occur.
