Projects for Students

The CJRN provides the opportunity for students to be engaged in a range of different research and advocacy projects, either with individual academics, with affiliated University Centres or with community-based groups.

Youth Justice Coalition:

  • The Youth Justice Coalition (YJC) is a network of youth workers, children’s lawyers, policy workers and academics who work to promote the rights of children and young people in NSW and across Australia. The general aims of the YJC are:
  • To promote the rights of children and young people, including their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international human rights instruments;
  • To promote appropriate and effective initiatives and responses in juvenile justice, child welfare and other areas of law affecting children and young people;
  • To ensure that children’s and young people’s views, interests and rights are taken into account in law reform and policy debate.

At present the YJC is seeking students who are interested in research and policy development in matters relating to young people. If you are interested please call Marrickville Community Legal Centre on 9559 2899 or see the website here.
